We strive to create events that meet everyone where they’re at in their advocacy skills and interest.
People with Lived Experiences
The Resident Action Project seeks to create social change by building the power and leadership of people who have experienced housing instability and homelessness. For too long, people who are impacted by these issues – who are disproportionately people of color, people who identify as LGBTQ+, single parent families, and people with disabilities – have been left out of the political process. Lawmakers make policy and budget decisions in the state legislature without talking with people how it will affect their lives. We need to change that!
If you are a person with lived experience, please sign up for our email list and contact one of our organizers! We would love to get to know you more and hear how you would like to get involved.
Nonprofit Partners
We are partnering with nonprofit organizations. We know that folks who work in nonprofit organizations are attuned to how these issues impact people’s lives, and that perspective is also important in our organizing space. In addition, we know that our nonprofit partners already hold relationships with many folks who are directly impacted and are thus in a good position to help us organize and support the leadership of people with lived experience.
If you are a person who works at a nonprofit organization, please sign up for our email list and contact one of our organizers to hear more about how you can get involved!
A note…
There are a number of ways that you can get involved in the Resident Action Project. Keep in mind that we are in the process of building out across the state, and there may be events happening near you that aren’t listed on the calendar. That being said, anyone who’s interested in getting involved is more than welcome to contact Teresa to get the most up-to-date information about what’s happening in your area. Teresa’s contact info is listed at the bottom of the page.
